Closer and closer...

Dan and I had our adoption classes this weekend, and though it was a lot of sitting, and I got numb-bum, I learned a lot and really felt like we were on the right path.  The classes were held at the Sandy LDSFS and there were tons of couples there.  I know the classes are only held once a quarter, so I was expecting several couples, but there were probably 24 couples!  Dan and I met some really nice people, and it's great to see that we aren't the only ones that are in this process.  On the other hand, many of us commented that we feel like the infertility rates are rising, and the case workers agreed.  I mentioned that it might be something in the water, everyone laughed, but who knows really, right?

Saturday morning there was a panel of birth moms and they were the sweetest girls.  My hearts really went out to them.  They talked about their support systems and their heart wrenching feelings as they placed their babies with another family.  Most of the girls have an open adoption, so they can see the babies, but hearing their "testimonies" of adoption really was eye opening and it was nice to see the other side of things, and to have them share their heart-felt feelings.

We have our one-on-one interviews with our case worker this week, and we are going to find a photographer so we can get some pictures for our blog and begin work on our pass along cards.  It feels like we are getting closer and closer to our goal of being approved for adoption by my birthday in a few weeks.  I can't wait!
